A Special Holiday Message from Sheryl Crow

Dear Donor,

As a former teacher, I know how hard it can be to get the classroom supplies needed to help students learn and succeed. School budgets are shrinking and teachers are using their own money to purchase the supplies they need just to do their job. At this time of year, many teachers are running out of supplies, and facing the need to re-stock their classrooms for the new semester.

So I want to thank you for your past support of AdoptAClassroom.org, and ask you to please join me this holiday season by adopting one or more teachers to help us reach our goal of 3,000 new teacher adoptions by year end. If we do this together, we will help more than 75,000 students in classrooms across the country.

To make an even bigger impact, please consider a year end contribution to AdoptAClassroom.org’s Annual Fund. This fund supports AdoptAClassroom.org’s operations, and helps them continue the great work they are doing by reaching more teachers and more students.

Supporting teachers is a cause that is near to my family and my heart. This holiday season, let’s open our hearts to support classrooms in need across the nation.

Sincerely,

Sheryl Crow, National Spokesperson for AdoptAClassroom.org

Thank you, Sheryl Crow! I live and teach on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. When donors look at my page, they instantly think that everyone on Hilton Head is wealthy, because it is a resort island. That couldn’t be nearly the truth. The fact is, more than 60% of our children live in poverty. Maybe you can get the word out there that just because people live on resort islands, it doesn’t mean that the school district has money to provide the class with supplies. I have already spent $1000.00 on my students and I haven’t had a raise in 7 years. So, thank you for being a spokesperson for teachers.
    Respectfully,
