AdoptAClassroom.org is excited to announce our continued partnership with Farmers Insurance® Thank America’s Teachers®! They are now accepting proposals, and teachers in need of classroom supplies are encouraged to apply.
This year, Thank America’s Teachers and Farmers Insurance will award more than $1 million in educational grants to schools across the United States. To help fund classroom projects, about 200 teachers will receive $2,500 for supplies on AdoptAClassroom.org. Five visionary teachers who submit a written proposal to Farmers Dream Big Teacher Challenge will each receive a $100,000 grant.
2018 Deadlines for Teachers
$2,500 Grant Program: Submit your proposal by February 27, 2018 for Round 1, May 30, 2018 for Round 2, or September 27 for Round 3

How It Works
Farmers invites teachers to apply for the $2,500 grant by submitting a proposal on the Thank America’s Teachers website. Each teacher who submits their application before the deadline will be showcased online and supporters can vote for their favorite classroom. Classrooms that receive the most votes will be rewarded with $2,500 to their AdoptAClassroom.org account.
Teachers who apply for the $100,000 Dream Big Teacher Challenge by the deadline will be featured online for voting during the month of October, 2018.
Farmers Impact on Teachers

With my funds from Farmers Insurance, I was super excited to invite a famous Deaf actor, C.J. Jones, (from the film, “Baby Driver”) to come to our K-8 elementary school in Los Angeles! He did a four-hour performing arts workshop for all of our students, K-12 deaf and hard of hearing students.
The experience left a profound impact on the kids. For our students to meet and socialize with deaf adults other than their teachers is rare. For them to meet a deaf man from outside of their community allowed them to see themselves as also having a path to success as adults.
The best thing ever was watching the smiles and hearing the laughter of our students as they so EASILY, without any barriers, connected with another human who is truly and 100% a part of their deaf world. Thank you so much to Farmers Insurance and AdoptAClassroom.org for allowing us this once in a lifetime experience.

I won the $100,000 grant from Farmers Insurance. I used the money for technology for my classroom and for the entire school. We purchased Promethean Boards, iPads, and Response Systems.
The technology we received transformed our school. As teachers, we have worked together to learn how to use our boards. We have received training, so that our boards would become more than just a glorified white board.
I am always looking for ways to improve in my classroom. I still use everything I purchased through the grants every single day. My lessons are more exciting and engaging for the students. I get excited just thinking about my lessons each day as I drive to school. Children prefer to learn differently today as compared to when I first started teaching.
We need to adapt and make changes to meet their needs and ways of learning. Farmers was a game changer for my classroom and school. We would still be in the dark ages without their help and support. I wish more teachers would take advantage of their grants.
